30 Year Celebratory Banquet

June 8, 2015 by

30 Year Banquet Flier2015 marks a dynamic milestone as we will be celebrating our 30-Year Anniversary as a Jurisdiction.  On Saturday, June 27, 2015, we will be hosting a grand Anniversary Banquet, which will be held at the beautiful Crown Plaza Hotel, located in Mission Valley’s Hotel Circle.

This banquet will afford us the time and opportunity to not only celebrate the achievements of this great jurisdiction, but to also honor the man God has appointed as our leader.  There has never been a better time for each of us – from the pulpit to the door – to honor,  congratulate and show our love and appreciation to our Bishop for his years of dedicated and committed service.   This banquet will be a ticketed event at a cost of $100 per person.

For this special time of celebration, we will be preparing a 30th Anniversary Historic Souvenir Journal.  It is our prayer that every jurisdictional leader, auxiliary, pastor as well as lay member who desires to do so, will submit an ad for this special edition.  With this early start and planning,  together with your cooperation and special effort, we believe this can be done!

Enclosed you will find an ad form with the pertinent information.  You will be receiving additional information regarding the banquet under separate cover.  Let us unite and come together to make our 30th Year Celebration a great success!

Should you need additional information or have a desire to serve on any of the Anniversary Planning Committees, please feel free to contact Bishop Charles Nauden at 626-912-0032 or Evangelist Lauren Robson at 619-470-1185.  Inquiries regarding the 30th Anniversary Banquet can be directed to Evangelist Lauren Robson.

Mother LottieBrown

"Blessed are those who mourn; for they shall be comforted."-Matthew 5:4

Words seem inadequate to express the sadness that we feel on the loss of our Pioneer, Los Angeles Area Mother and District Missionary for the Hosanna District, Mother Lottie Brown.

She surely poured into the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing her.  Mother Brown was a Godly woman, full of love, compassion and wisdom. We all are better because we knew her. Her faithfulness and commitment to our jurisdiction since it's inception was impeccable. She was a noted Historian, always willing to share the history of our church with those who came in contact with her. Mother Brown was a "praiser" and always gave her all in service.

Our heartfelt prayers are with Pastor Elwood Carson and the entire Brown family during this difficult time as well as in the days to come. Let us keep the family in our prayers. We loved her dearly and she will truly be missed.

May you find comfort in memories and strength in our love during this time of bereavement.

Funeral service information is pending and will be forwarded.

Bishop George D. McKinney, Ph.D
Southern California Second Jurisdiction Prelate
General Board Member, COGIC

When a woman has made a choice of the path which this woman chose, and when she walks that path with full determination to follow the arrow ahead, her reward is laid up in store for her

The State Women’s Department of the Second Jurisdiction of Southern California is deeply saddened and heartbroken at the loss of one of our pioneers and historians, District Missionary Lottie Brown.  Mother Brown was an active, committed and dedicated member of our leadership team.  She served as the District Missionary of the Hosanna District, the Area Missionary  and  the Dean of the School of Licensing in the Los Angeles Area.  She will be forever remembered for her powerful singing voice, as a former member of the Minister’s Wives Choir, and for her infamous quote: “I’m a little piece of leather, well put together.”

Mother Brown will be greatly missed by not only the Women’s Department, but the entire Jurisdiction.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Brown, Carson and Smith families during this time of bereavement.  Our prayers are with you.

Homegoing Service details for Mother Brown are pending.
